As the title says, if your regular commute is between zones 1 and 2, then there is no need to touch off when you arrive home at night.
There are of course situations where it is still advantageous to touch off, but if I started explaining those, your eyes would glaze over and your brain would turn into something resembling Maccaroni and cheese.
